| Summary: | Background: Studies report that the economic development and family planning is central to
gender equality and women’s empowerment, and it is a key factor in reducing poverty.
Objective: This study aims to find the contraceptive trends, attitudes, practices, knowledge and
utilization of contraceptive method.
Method: A cross sectional study among 223 participants was conducted from December 2017
till January 2018. Standard questionnaire was adapted according to the preferable of the research
questions. SPSS version 22 was used to analyze the data and Excel was used for graph. Ethical
consideration was approved from AUW institutional review board.
Results: Among the total participants, 96.4% were aware of contraceptive methods. Participants
had a good knowledge regarding contraceptive practices. There was no association of the
satisfaction of the family planning services with marital status, age group, education background,
and gender.
Conclusion: Participants were satisfied with the family services and most of the participants had
a good knowledge of contraceptive irrespective of education level, gender, marital status and age
group.
