This paper examines how exposure to domestic violence can lead to problems in emotional regulation and cognitive development disorder as well as attachment styles in children. It will also focus on how trauma from domestic violence shapes their emotional and behavioral development, as well as how it impacts their adult relationships and relationships with their parents. Lastly, the research focuses on the mental health policy that is currently present in Bangladesh for children who have been exposed to domestic violence. The research has been conducted through a qualitative approach and secondary analysis was used to answer the research questions.
This research was done with the goal to find how much children’s mental health can be impacted due to exposure to domestic violence. To examine how trauma from the past due to domestic violence can influence their relationships with others when they are adults and their relationship with their parents. The mental health policy of Bangladesh explored to see how much it can help the children who have been exposed to domestic violence. The findings indicate that exposure to domestic violence influences their emotional regulation and cognitive development disorder and attachment styles in children which influences their interaction with others and their relationships with others when they are adults if left untreated. According to the findings of the research, Bangladesh needs an inclusive mental health policy that would help in making mental health services more accessible, destigmatize mental health issues which would lead to encouraging victims and their children to seek mental health services. |
